

OUR POLICIES



As we strive to provide our guests with an exceptionally clean, safe, and friendly hotel experience, Avela Boutique Hotel management will highly appreciate your collaboration in abiding by these rules and regulations, whose aim is to ensure a peaceful and safe stay for you and all our guests.
Set guidelines have been established based on industry standards, management and operational procedures, and are considered part of our reservation agreement, so please read carefully, and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding our Policies.

RESERVATIONS
Avela Boutique Hotel is and adult only space. No guests under the age of 16 are allowed.
In order to be able to book with us, all guests must be 18 years or older. We will receive visitors 16 to 18 years old, only if accompanied by a responsible adult.
Avela Boutique Hotel is Wheelchair Accessible.
In order to ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, no pets are allowed on the premises.
CONFIRMATION
In order to confirm a booking, guests must complete payment in full.
We accept all major credit cards as well as PayPal payments. (Visa, Master Card, Discovery Card…)
CURRENCY CONVERSIONS
For your convenience, all rates are confirmed in USD, however onsite charges will be converted to Mexican pesos.
Avela Boutique Hotel’s currency exchange rates will fluctuate on a daily basis; the hotel cannot guarantee a specific rate of exchange.
Daily currency exchange rates will be available at the front desk.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
Please note that there is $150 USD Refundable Security Deposit, to be charged at check-in.
Security Deposit Payment Options
1. Hold the amount on your Credit Card of choice:
We will attach a hold on your credit card, at check-out we will free the amount on hold.
A valid signed, and pre-approved credit card in the name of the guest registration will be required for this payment method.
Please note that is the guest’s responsibility to fully understand the manner in which the bank processes preauthorizations and charges to credit/debit card.
Some banks hold pending authorizations for up to 30 business days.
2. Cash at check-in:
Either $150 USD or the equivalent in pesos, subject to daily currency exchange, which will be returned to you upon checkout. Debit / Credit card holders.
Please note that credit cards are not valid unless signed. Avela Boutique Hotel will refuse an unsigned card.
CANCELLATIONS
in order to avoid a fee and receive a full refund, guests will be required to cancel their room reservation within 48 hours of receiving their booking confirmation and only on reservations a minimum of 14 days prior arrival.
On cancellations made after the 48 hours have passed and/or 7 days prior arrival, the guest will be refunded 50% of their room reservation payment.
There will be no refunds on bookings cancelled after the grace period of 48 hours, and with 7 or less days prior arrival.



SPECIAL REQUESTS
Subject to availability.
We will make every effort to honor special requests, such as room number, adjoining rooms, etc. upon your arrival.
All special requests are noted on reservations and we will do our best to accommodate.
However, please note that the availability of these items cannot be guaranteed in advance.







ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE
Check-in Requirements
Check-in Time: Starts at 3:00 p.m.
For your security and to help prevent fraud, guests are required to confirm their identity by providing a valid government issued photo identification at check-in.
The ID and/or credit card presented must match the guest name under which the room is reserved.
Check-in Registration Form
All Avela Boutique Hotel visitors will be required to fill in a Registration form.
Guests must provide valid contact information including first and last name, address, phone number, and signature.
Besides the person which completed the reservation, the names of all guests occupying the room must be registered.
Please note, that if arriving via car, information regarding your license plate/car description is also gathered at check-in for security purposes.
ROOM KEYS
We will provide one room key after proceeding to check-in and registration. Please let reception know if you require an extra copy.
Lost Keys or Damage to Locks
All keys must be returned at check-out to the reception front desk. Please note that lost room keys will incur in a $20.00 USD charge per key.
The cost for replacement of damaged locks is applicable and a total amount of 4000 Mexican pesos will have to be paid immediately.
Early Check-in
In case of early arrivals, we have at your disposal a baggage area where you can store the luggage check-in time. If the room has been cleaned and is ready before 15:00, you may have access to it earlier.
Please be aware of our additional charge for early check-in, and know it will be subject to availability.
Early check-in starts from 8:30 am and the price is $50 USD.
Personal belongings
For your convenience we have provided a safe deposit box, located in the bottom of the closet in your room. Avela Boutique Hotel is not responsible for any damage or loss of your personal belongings.
CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE
Check-out Time: 11:00 a.m.
You can enjoy your stay with us until 11 am the day of your departure. Please proceed to check-out at reception/front desk at the requested time.
If you wish to check out later, please contact reception, and note our additional fee for late check-out of 50 USD. This service will be subject to availability.
Important to note that If exceeded the check-out time without notification, you will be charged an extra night stay after 11:00 am.
As a friendly reminder, we suggest you to double check safe deposit box in your room before your departure from the Hotel.
Lost & Found Policies
Avela Boutique Hotel assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings.
If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately +52 1 329 688 23 05 and we will try to assist you in locating your lost item.
In the eventuality of finding guests personal belongings, the hotel will save set items for a period of 60 days, in which guests can reclaim them.
In the eventuality that Avela Boutique Hotel has to send lost or misplaced personal belongings, the guest will be responsible 100% of the mailing costs and fees.


SERVICES
FREE Wi-Fi ACCESS: Only common areas.
Access to our Wi-Fi is free in all our common areas. Avela Boutique Hotel reception staff will provide at check-in all the necessary information for you to be able to enjoy this free service.
Please note that the hotel Wi-Fi access code is subject to change without notice. Wi-Fi signals are subject to change without notice depending on the room’s location, the status of our Wi-Fi-equipment, and interference from other local wireless signals.
TOWELS
You will be provided with both bath and pool/beach towels.
The bath towels will be white and are for internal use only. Please, do not to take the white towels out of your room.
Pool towels are brown color and are available for your use outside the hotel grounds as well.
Loss of pool / beach towels will incur a fee of $30 USD per towel.
JACUZZI
Indulge in a wonderful soak and water massage in any of our two Jacuzzis
PARKING LOT
We have free parking space for guest use only. Please confirm your arrival by car in advance. Parking lot doors will be open between 8:00 am and 9:00 pm.
Note that after this time you will not be able to drive out your vehicle. If you wish to do so after 9:00 pm, make sure to park your car out of the lot.
VISITORS
No visitors are allowed.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY
Room occupancy is based on State Law Requirements.
Standard Room maximum occupancy is 2 persons per king sized bed.
Our Suites México and Marinas have a maximum occupancy of 5 guests, Maya Suite has a maximum occupancy of 4 guests.
ROOM CLEANING SERVICE
Rooms cleaning service is available daily from 09:00 am to 1:00 pm.
At Avela Boutique Hotel we strive to take good care our environment, so please confirm with front desk if you need linens changed, or if you would like your towels replaced.
Please make sure you have the “Housekeeping” sign up before 1:00 pm if you wish your room cleaned on the day.
If you wish to not be disturbed, please hang the "Do not disturb" sign early in the morning.
DO-NOT DISTURB AND ACCESS TO ROOMS
To provide all of our guests with an exceptionally clean and safe hotel experience, we provide daily housekeeping.
The Housekeeping Staff is required to enter the room at subsequent times to clean the room, check for safety, and verify the condition of the room.
Management reserves the right to enter a room for reasonable purposes, such as an emergency, housekeeping, maintenance, verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of our Hotel Policy / House Rules.
Please, note that in the event of suspected illegal activity, management reserves the right to summon law enforcement to
aid in eviction.
The right to privacy ends when a Hotel Policy/House Rule is broken. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access to hotel property and rooms of evicted guests.


Access to the room by employees of Avela Boutique Hotel
In order to provide our guests with an exceptional sense of cleanliness and tranquility, we reserve the right to access the rooms in order to clean, maintain, check the condition of the furniture and the appliances and ensure the quality of our rooms.
Management reserves the right to access rooms with a "Do not Disturb" sign board in case of an emergency, suspicious behavior, damaged inventory or violation of the hotel's internal regulations.
QUIET HOURS
In order to ensure a tranquil, relaxed stay for all our guests, please note that we have established our quiet hours between 10:00 pm. to 8:00 am.
If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact Front Desk staff immediately.
Televisions, speakers or other devices must be kept at a respectful low level at all times. Doors should be opened and closed quietly.
ALCOHOL POLICY
All registered guests of legal age are allowed to bring their own alcoholic beverages and consume them on hotel grounds.
Please drink responsibly.
For your safety and in order to respect all our guests, please note that irresponsible drinking is not allowed in common areas such as the lobby, Jacuzzi, halls, etc. If staff and guests detect an intoxicated guest in such areas, Avela Boutique Hotel reserves the right to reprimand set guest.
100% SMOKE-FREE
This policy is not intended to stop people from smoking, but to regulate where they smoke and how it affects others.
A Designated Smoking Area is provided outside drive way –entrance area- and away from the building.
For your safety and to assure that our facility is not exposed to strong, unhealthy smells we do not permit smoking tobacco, recreational or prescribed marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, hookahs, incense or cigars.
It is also strictly prohibited candle burning, the use or diffusing of aromatic oils or other strong-smelling plant-based essential oils
or synthetic products in our facility.
Guests are encouraged to notify Front Desk staff immediately if they smell cigarette, marijuana, or other odors.
Candle, incense, essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited. These items and activities will be treated as smoking, failing to follow set guidelines will result in a possible eviction from the hotel grounds without a refund.
NO-COOKING, COOKING APPLIANCES, COMBUSTIBLES, OR FIREWORKS
The safety of our guests, staff, and this facility is extremely important to us. Except for the microwave and refrigerator units that the hotel provides, preparation of food in single King size bedrooms using any type of cooking appliances is prohibited.
A minimum fee of $100 USD will be charged for cooking in a single King size bed room, including coffee makers, hot plates, toaster ovens, water heaters, rice cookers, combustible, open flame, barbecue grill, burners, heating appliance, or any other item intended for cooking.
Open fires, flames or cooking grills, either charcoal or gas, and fireworks are not allowed anywhere on hotel property.
DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT
DAMAGE TO ROOM: Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, art work, etc. will be charge at 120% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges.
Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room.
Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.
DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING:
Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe-polish, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.
DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS/FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT:
We reserve the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, break glass points and fire extinguishers.
Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel
Depending on the severity of the guest actions, law enforcement may become involved at the hotel’s discretion.
Should the fact that firefighting or detection equipment had been tampered with come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc.
FIREARMS AND WEAPONS:
The safety and security of our guests and staff is extremely important to us.
Avela Boutique Hotel is private property.
Firearms are not allowed.
POWER OUTAGES / WATER SHORTAGES – Sayulita is a small village, with poor infrastructure.
Please note that all year around, and especially during the summer months May to October there are possible power outages and water shortages due to bad weather and storms.
Avela Boutique Hotel will not process any refunds due to any outages that might occur.
ILLNESS AND EPIDEMICS
The hotel reserves the right to refuse accommodations to a guest arriving with a contagious disease.
In cases where sickness occurs during the stay, please notify the Front Desk staff.
In the case of serious sickness, you may be requested to receive appropriate health care from a nearby healthcare facility.
During epidemics we are entitled to employ precautionary measures within our judgment or as required by local authorities. In extreme cases a special room cleaning fee might incur, as we deem appropriate under the circumstances presented.
INFESTATION
The cleanliness of our rooms is extremely important.
If guests bring any infestation into the hotel room or on the premises, they will be liable and will incur all costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation.
